Kusirumi New York is launching several new walking tours for lovers of long walks to provide insight into nature, historical events, and architecture of New York City.

We travel to reframe our perspective in life, so come to New York, one of the greatest cities in the world, with its rich history, architecture and performing arts. From its earliest days there has been a constant flow of immigrants from all over the world into New York to create this unique and vibrant city. Bringing their skills and expertise to different trades, they helped in shaping the city’s diverse neighborhoods.

These immigrants brought with them their cultures and histories. For food lovers, they also infused New York with their cuisines. From the pastas of Little Italy to the pot stickers of Chinatown, New York got something for everyone: cupcakes, cronuts, upscale French, Asian fusion, or just a slice of plain cheese pizza from one of the city’s innumerable pizzerias.

New York is home to some of the best examples of American architecture. From one block to the next one can witness everything from Neoclassical and Beaux-Arts buildings to the modern-day monuments of glass and steel. From Brooklyn brownstones to the neo-Gothic Woolworth Building to the art deco of the Empire State Building, from block to block New York is a medley of architecture rich in history.

I am Jose Ugarte, a native Peruvian with 27 years of experience as a tour guide in Cusco, Peru. I now call Brooklyn my home and bring my experience as a tour guide and my passion for New York to Kusirumi New York’s walking tours.
