Arequipa-Colca Canyon

The beautiful white city of Arequipa founded by the Spaniards on August 15, 1540 is located at 7,600 feet (2,300 meters) and rests in the outskirts of 3 Volcanoes.

The white volcanic rock (sillar) that was used to build in the colonial time, gives the city a remarkable appeal. The Colca Canyon is a colorful Andean Valley with pre-Inca roots 100 miles north west of Arequipa, and is Peru’s third most visited tourist destination, is the habitat of the Andean condor on views from overlooks like Cruz del Condor. This will be one of the highlights of your trip.

Arequipa-Colca Canyon

Day 1
Airport Pick up and transfer to your hotel, upon arrival, there will be time to relax or explore a bit on your own before an afternoon city tour, visiting Yanahuara, La compañia and the convent of Santa Catalina. famous for its labyrinth of secluded rooms.

Day 2
Leaving the city behind by private van, your tour will ascend to the highland savannah,or Puna, for an amazing view of MtEl Misti and more distant snowcapped Volcanoes.On this high-altitude desert, you’ll see herds of llamas, alpacas and the endangered vicuña.From this high point, you descend into the Colca Valley with their pre-Inca terraces. Thermal bath or hikes are some of the afternoon activities.

Day 3
Today at dawn we departure to Cruz del condor. You’ll journey to a viewpoint over the canyon to watch condors as they leave their rocky outcrop on the morning warm air currents, slowly ascending over the horizon. If you like our guide will take you for a hike along the rim of the canyon for spectacular views. Drive back to Arequipa.

Day 4
Relaxing morning to complete some sightseeing, transfer out to the airport.
